After the Buyout, XTree Corp was created. XTree was spruced up and Xtree1.0 was released. Back then, as today, most 'Free Time developed - In House use' software that is not intended for release is NOT owned by the corp where it was developed. Corp where it was developed only has a claim for royalties (if they exercise it). Normally in a Buyout, all 'In House' software ownership falls to the developers.
More so, if they are a contractor from company A and are working at company B and develop something not part of the project, but to make the project easier, the software use rights belong to company B, but the ownership of the software belongs to the developers. I don't have the 411 on the XTree Corp or the Developers.
Xtree Gold For Windows
Version 4.0 was to be the last version of XTree Gold to be developed. By 1994, Xtree had been acquired by Central Point Software, which in turn was acquired by Symantec in 1995. By that stage, Symantec decided to cease development of XTree Gold and focus on Norton Navigator for Windows 95. Sales discontinued for Version 4.0 by the end of 1997, with support ending by early 1998. Version 4.0's retail box noted being 'Chicago-Ready' which meant it was now able to support long file names for the upcoming Windows 95 release. It also had over 120 WYSIWYG file viewers, PKZip 2.x support for ZIP files, and still able to use the same keyboard shortcuts as the DOS versions. Installation instructions Requires Windows 3.1 or later.
Run setup.exe from the first disk.
The primary goal of our site is to provide the user with a list of programs that support file extensions, as well as that help to convert them to another format. The program XTreeGold has also been found in our database for this reason.
The following tables provide information about the association of the program XTreeGold with file extensions. If the program XTreeGold can be used to convert the data, such information will also be provided. The associations of the program XTreeGold with the files. What can I use this information for?
This information is especially useful when looking for a way to open a specific file. If you already have XTreeGold installed on your computer, you can check which file extensions it supports and look for the data you need in this specific format (or to what format you should convert the data so that you can open them in the XTreeGold). I do not have a program XTreeGold yet. Where should I get it?
By far the most secure option is to download a program XTreeGold directly from the manufacturer’s site. If you are going to download the application XTreeGold from a website that offers a database of downloadable software, you have to reckon with the fact that when you install it on your computer, you will also install the unwanted extras. Please, pay special attention to this.
